Cyclists paradise Taubertal – ADFC 5*****-bike path

Our camping ground is located directly on the cycle path ‘Liebliches Taubertal’ and runs from ‘Wertheim am Main’ up to ‘Rothenburg ob der Tauber’. “Der Klassiker” promises 100 km of fantastic bicycling on one of the loveliest cycle paths in Germany.
‘Der Sportive’ promises 160 km of sporty cycling over the heights of the ‘Tauberland’.
To return to the point of departure the railway line ‘Tauberbahn’ ( Wertheim-Schrozberg ) can be used.
For the more ambitious cyclist, the cycle path ‘Hohenloher Residenzenweg’ is on offer. Start point is Bad Mergentheim. Through Weikersheim the cycle path winds through the picturesque Vorbach valley to Laudenbach and Niederstetten up to Schrozberg.
From there it runs over the ‘Hohenloher Ebene’ to Blaufelden and Langenburg down to the Jagst valley. In addition, this cycle path offers the possibility of covering some of the entire route by train.
Interesting and diversified is the ‘Rad-Achter’. The unique and beautifully sited Höhenwaldschwimmbad in Neubronn (5km) invites you for some unforgattble hours of welness and relaxation.
For additional swimming activities there is always the indoor pool at Weikersheim itself.
Nice hours with much recreation you can have at the nearby Rinderfelder Badesee .
For a longer stay, why not pay a visit to the swimming and wellness park Solymar in Bad Mergentheim. It is certainly worth a visit!

Wildlife-Park Bad Mergentheim

Come and watch the wildlife roaming around in our park!

You are welcome to come and enjoy one of Europe’s largest wildlife parks with the greatest number of animal species.
Become thrilled by encountering 80 species of wild animals living in our large 35 hectare habitat. Most of the enclosures are inconspicuously laid out, using natural materials as far as possible to allow you a clear view of the animals. There is hardly a chicken wired coop in our park. We endeavour to provide an opportune habitat for our animal species.

Summertime
Mid-March to 1st November: daily 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Last admission is at 4:30 pm.

Wintertime
1st November to mid-March: open only on Saturday, Sundays and Public Holidays from 10:30 am until dusk. Last admission is at 4:00 pm.

Walk round the park with our animal keepers!
Join our animal keepers at feeding time as they walk around the park feeding the animals. You will then be able to encounter the animals at very close quarters watching their behaviour. You will see birds or prey, fish otters, brown bears, lynxes, Europe’s largest pack of wolves, beavers, wild boars and wild cats. That is just a small number of the animals you will be able to watch on the feeding round.

There are two feeding tours a day. Each tour takes approximately 2 ½ hours.

Summertime: Mid-March to 1st November:

the first tour is at 9:45 am
the second tour is at 1:30 pm

Wintertime: 1st November to mid-March:

the first tour is at 10:40 am
the second tour is at 1:30 pm

In between the feeding rounds you will also be able observe the other animals:

RÖTTINGER SPIELSCHEUNE

Das ehemals einsturzgefährdete Gebäude in der Erbsengasse 1 dient nun als „Indoorspielplatz“. Ausgestattet mit Spielgeräten der Firma eibe stellt die Spielscheune eine Ritterburg mit Gewölbekeller da. Auf insgesamt vier Ebenen können sich die Kinder austoben. Zwei Ebenen, die durch eine Rutsche verbunden sind, laden die Kinder zum Erobern der Burgtürme ein. Hier können sie durch Netztunnel krabbeln und kriechen. Über eine weitere Tunnelrutsche gelangen die Kinder in den Gewölbekeller. Dort erwartet sie ein modernes Buzzerspiel, bei dem es gilt Geschick zu erweisen.

Durch den Keller kommt man in die Außenanlage, einem Burghof mit Brunnen, somit gehen die Kinder wieder sicher zurück in die Scheune ohne auf die Straße zu laufen. Auf der obersten Ebene der Spielscheune ist eine kleine Wolkenstadt mit Federwippen aufgebaut. Diese ist für 0-3 Jährige gedacht. Hier befinden sich dann auch Sitzmöglichkeiten für die Eltern. Zudem befinden sich Toilette und Wickelraum in der Spielscheune.

Die Spielscheune in Röttingen ist somit eine gute Abwechslungsmöglichkeit zu normalen Spielplätzen, da sie überdacht ist. Kinder können sich auch bei schlechtem Wetter austoben und dies an 365 Tagen im Jahr. Die Röttinger Spielscheune ist kostenfrei und täglich von 09:00 bis 19:00 Uhr geöffnet und befindet sich direkt neben dem Jakobsturm in der Erbsengasse.

The Karlsberg observatory is located on the top of the Karlsberg. As an attraction it have a beautiful planet path.
